Sheepishly Good Luck

A short I'm making for summer2013.. "sheepishly good luck" might enter it for like D&AD etc.. havnt decided yet. still in the modelling and texture stages. Keep your eyes open...

Football kick-ups.. animation..

Just testing my ball controls in animation.. this was weird interacting with an inanimate object.. (lol  insert "In Bruges" reference here to a fuckin' inanimate object). The ball had to have the right weight and 'boucyness'.. the key-framing is a  bit all over the place.. I feel that motion capture is built for this kind of animation.

The animation is about 80% done so be patient, just the arms to do.. the arms i think will help add weight as he will look more balanced. Again just waiting on some software/license issues.(to composit)

Just What I've been working on lately (post for A.W)

Two images showing hair dynamics working>> I will composite the video together when I get my premier/after effects working again.. this is all so I can re-enter the DAFF 2013 competition again this year and hopefully win this time.. still happy with third place though..

Artefact 1. Revised and completed

Apologies I don't know why it isn't widescreen, is in my video, think its because I only have a standard vimeo account they said they would HD it. Its only 160MB now instead of 2GB, could further condense it but takes quality off a little more.

Purpose of the piece is to establish how scary creatures and characters move. Here is the first death scene from the movie Alien, where the xenomorph creature has been substituted with a deranged human, carrying all the same movements. Is it still scary or does the human need the form. Does form create the first movements in the viewers mind? can you not scary without looking frightening? further questions answered in other artefacts.

Client project (no sound yet)

Simulated client test - no music yet from David J Wood on Vimeo.

My research question??

Thinking of doing something on the lines of how to animate a creature to make it scary: that way I can talk about Nosferatu and scaled things like Godzilla/ King Kong, and newer creations with lots of werewolves/vampires stories out at the moment such as the underworld series/ twilight etc. Aliens and cowboys etc.

There is a lot to focus on such as the psychology of the character and the context and such and I could even slip in a little bit of modelling talk in there to help. The bit i am struggling with tonight is how to word the question.

This is the primary field I have decided to go into, such as modelling and rigging characters for film/ TV. this interests me a lot so I thought id learn more about the method and mentality behind it... Can anybody help me word the essay correctly?

New NTU alumni logo

I am pretty sure everybody has done their own version of this logo so here's mine for the end of my short simulated client video. -lets be honest who didn't think of this logo straight away when they heard of the project.. and why not; simplest logos are the best this guy thinks.
